I know what I think, but that’s not important. What do you think is the best sedan from the last five years?

Based on looks and ability, probably the latest BMW 5 series. Saw an M5 the other day - restrained yet muscular (like me in the 90s). On the other hand, if I’m honest, I’d probably buy the Jag XJ. I say this having driven neither car.

If we want to differentiate between “best” and “favorite”, my vote goes to the Tesla Model S because of the technological advances it has demonstrated and implemented practically. But my favorite would have to be the W205 Mercedes C63. Looks great, love the interior and it still has a V8.

C300 4MATIC, of course, they don’t post all those lease deals for no reason.

I’m basing this off of - if I was going to go but a new 2017 sedan tomorrow.

2017 Lincoln MKZ AWD with the 400hp/400 Torque TT V6

I know it’s the Model S, but to me this Quattroporte beats all other sedans for desireability.

I’m honestly torn between two. The 2013+ BMW M5 (F10) changed the way I looked at sporty sedans. I loved the E60 M5 as a child, but this raised the bar to a level previously unheard of. When it was announced in 2011, a 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 with a 7 Speed M DCT double clutch gearbox was unheard of in my mind. I remember wanting one so much when Forza 4 came out. Although the Porsche Panamera Turbo S, Mercedes E63S AMG 4Matic, and Audi RS7 are faster, this thing is still the king of the super sedans to me.

Also, although it was a tough choice between these two, I’d like to give credits to the 2012+ BMW 3-Series (F30). Never in my life have I wanted a car so much. Also, never in my life have I ever worked so hard toward something until I started my still ongoing quest for a new BMW.

This is the car that proves without a doubt that American luxury still matters. Something that Cadillac didn’t really do with the CT6 (as much as I want to like it).

Ford Taurus SHO. In all around weather, performance, ride comfort, etc. SHO all the way. Maybe the Lincoln MKS if you you like more luxo features.

I’m shocked none of you have brought up the Cadillac ATS or CTS.

Both are great looking American alternates to the typical German luxury fray, and both come in monsterous V-Series variants.

Of course, I could also throw in the CT6, but I really think the ATS/ATS-V and CTS/CTS-V are the best sedans of the last 5 years, hands down.

I like big engines. So my choices are the C63 with the M156 engine and the 2016 Charger Scat Pack. The C63 will always hold a special place in my heart for that wonderful engine, muscular styling, and fantastic interior.

The Scat Pack is really more of a value thing. Burnouts for days, yet the Charger is great just as a sedan, being roomy, comfortable, and well equipped for a reasonable price.

Yes, it’s actually a Holden, but this is truly a world-class machine. Other than not putting a trunk button on the outside of the car, I haven’t been able to find a flaw.
